The Covered Bridges of the Glen
The Cemetery Rd. Covered Bridge
History: Built in 1886 by Henry Hebble, it is also known as The Glen Helen Covered Bridge. The bridge was relocated in 1975 to its current location traversing the Yellow Springs Creek.
Claims: Visible lights, black menacing shadow figures, spectral animal apparitions, and spectral native Americans have all been reported here.
TCP Experience: Our group has heard voices and out of place noises here. We have also witnessed visible, multi-colored, sometimes pulsating lights just off of the path by the Yellow Springs Creek.
This photo was captured during an EVP session on the Cemetery Rd. Covered Bridge. I believe the hard-light in this photo is nothing more than a bug... it's the figure directly to its right that warrants a second glance.
The Richard P. Eastman Hyde Rd. Covered Bridge
History: This is a former wooden stagecoach bridge that traverses a section of The Little Miami Scenic Trail. It is named for the late Greene County Engineer who was critical to the funding and construction of the trail. Mr. Eastman was a fan of covered bridges, he passed in 2012 at the age of 92. Dedicated Friday, May 9th, 2014, it is one of the newest covered bridges in Ohio.
Claims: On this brand new bridge...None. The bridge it replaced on this site however was a documented "Crybaby Bridge"... if you put any stock in that sort of thing, which we do not. It is said that at midnight you can hear a baby crying and mother running around on the bridge. The story alleges a mother and baby murder-suicide around midnight here, and footprints on cars that park in this area like "someone is trying to force their way in"... FACTS, however, back up none of the above.
TCP Experience: Noises sounding like footsteps on gravel, and boots walking on wood were heard here by two of our investigators. The bridge road, the roads it connects, and the bikepath below are all concrete/asphalt.
